Remove front crossmember mounting crush tubes, mill down 2mm and reinstall, thereby lowering the body and attached drag link. But the original is in good condition so I have reinstalled as is. With the positive offset 185/80R13 tyres on the front and the pitman arm on tight the steering is now pretty good. Image
I ran it around the test circuit, up old Willunga hill and down the highway. Windy corners and 70mph down hill. Only issue was the 235/60R13 rubbing on the inside when I turned into the driveway.

One of the grease boots on the passenger upper inner control arm pivot is buggered. Probably need to address that to get through roadworthy. I still haven’t heard back from vehicle standards.

Tried a 3mm spacer on the passenger rear wheel but still rubbed under articulation coming in to my driveway.

I played with the exhaust but the spring still hits it on my test bump. I had the same trouble with the ute with the exhaust running between the spring below and rear chassis rail above. I will see if I can get it re-routed between the spare wheel well and petrol tank per factory. The resonator will sit nicely in there.

Hi Clay, i think which ever way you space it you'll have rubbing inside or outside, with 235s, at least on the inside it doesn't show.
A place for everything and everything in it's place, just can't remember where that place is.

I hear you Brian. Outside is okay with the current stance, but after I put the 1” blocks in that may change. The front guards haven’t been rolled at all but the clearance seems fine. The front springs are aftermarket yellow. The gauge looks quite light and ride at the front is fairly soft. I’ve got a boot to go on the upper pivot so I’ll have a better look when the weather gets a bit cooler in the next few days. Exhaust booked for Tuesday.

Took the car to the exhaust shop. I had discussed what I wanted, which was to reroute the tail pipe out between the spare wheel well and fuel tank. They said they would have a look and see what could be done and sent me away. $190 later it is still hitting the spring. They said they put a flange on it and reworked so it would never hit. I can see they did some welding and painted it black, but basically left it where it was.

Thanks to Harv, the choke mechanism came today. It appears I still need a fast idle mechanism to make it work however.

Not too many wins at the moment, though I did put it up on the trolley jack at a near by wash bay and give it a decent clean underneath.

Still no word from Vehicle Standards. Three weeks tomorrow since I lodged.

Hmmm….cant rush them! Are you using trade plates or an unregistered permit to drive the car Clay?

WA reg to the vendor is still current Stephen. Vehicle standards specify a 15 business day maximum, which is up tomorrow. Then there is a wait to obtain an inspection, which can’t be booked without the response from them. Then there is Christmas….

My bad. I took the exploded diagram to the shed, and pondered the box of assorted Holley bits. By the time I remembered how the choke plate linkage went together I forgot the linkage down to the throttle plate. Will have another look in the box today.

Even saints aren’t perfect it seems Andrew. You better get to Temora so I can buy you a drink, or I will have to hunt you down.

Statement of requirements arrived today. Theoretically they just met their KPI, however it has an expiry date of 20/11/24, the day before I lodged the application!? Anyway I have a reference number now and can book the inspection. $*#@ bureaucrats $*#@ it up.

Inspection booked 8th January, the earliest available date. Plenty of time to ensure everything is tickety-boo I suppose. Very lucky that Trev isn’t in too much of a hurry to get the WA plates back.
