Narrowed XJS front end around 110mm used an E type rear and cage fits within the chassis rails just needs to be adapted to fit using factory mountings

Yes battery moved to the back, hi ace booster and pedal assembly under dash. wiper motor under dash as well, I want a clean engine bay but will be tight for room with everything mounted under the dash including heating/cooling.

Finally got an answer back from Vic Roads -- The definitive ruling is as the vehicle is based on a passenger car chassis it is to be administered as a light vehicle and so the 350 small block is the largest capacity allowable.

I have located a 4 bolt high nickel content block so will build a new engine from scratch for the project... this will allow more room for the exhaust clearance anyhow... you can build a pretty good engine these days not the same as a big block but the engineer has said nothing about a horsepower ...
