Re: Auto Steering Column

Cheers for that tip Nick. I guess this being my first car that I am doing a full rebuild, I haven't tinkered with a lot of old holdens, so its good to learn from everyone what will and wont work. I am going to be running a UC torana front end. Have read the details on this forum, looked at the photo...

Re: Mega cruise to Hervey Bay Nats - Idea

I know of a shell servo at nudgee, which is on the gateway in Brisbane. Plenty of room for a stop and pick up Brisbane cars. (that's if your coming the coastal road) Could I tag along in the VE?

Re: Auto Steering Column

Hi all, I have located one, thanks everyone that looked. have also picked up a WB column aswell. Yes I was told I could have used the HR one, but I think the diameter of the honey pot/coffee pot, (whatever its technical name is) would be different and wouldn't match the FB wheel. No Adrian, haven't ...

Re: steering columns

Yep I have been looking and will probably go with alien retro columns. I guess having the column made from an Ek so it still looks original and have the auto on the tree still is something I want. It's expensive but I think the end result will be worth it.

Auto Steering Column

I have just found out that I need an Auto Steering Column for my conversion. I would really like a complete unit minus the steering box. Would be stoked to find one in Victoria to save courier costs, but if you have one that you want to part with, let me know

Thanks for the feedback all. I was thinking about the carpet too, didn't know whether it still go over the commodore one or not. Add tunnel to the shopping list

commodore transmission tunnel.

I am wondering has anyone who has done the v6/v8 conversion used the transmission out of a commodore? Instead of buying a replacement tunnel from V6C or CRS, since I have the donor car to use, I am thinking to see if I can get the commodore tunnel to fit. I know it might be a bit of profiling betwee...

Re: Plasma and Tig in one.

cheers for the replies to all. They are all quite valid points. I have always thought that if its cheap it wont be any good, but the amount of would use I thought it would suffice. I guess that is the problem with buying from the net and not from a store, there is no one to talk face to face if it d...

Plasma and Tig in one.

Has anyone had any experience with the Plasma cutter/tig in one machines. I am finding that the Mig Welder I have just blows through anything under 1mm thickness, even with the amps down as low as it will go. I was thinking about getting a Plasma cutter and Tig in one machine. You see them on ebay f...
