Re: Where to source seat material?
As already stated, it is hard to find original materials, but you could try a few older upholstery places to see what they may have stashed away. The other option is hunt around on eBay, swap meets or the local trading paper i.e. quokka, trading post etc.

Awesome buy Steve, congratulations.
The interior trim design looks great, although not a huge fan of the candy stripes on the seats.
Do you have the history and papers.

Harv, great article
You mention 1 1/2 inch demister hose in your article not being available in Autsralia, I have found some available at this site in the UK

Scratch plates
Looking for help
I have a set of the scratch plates with the brushed centre and they are worn, the brass is starting to show through.
Has anyone had this type rechromed and still retain the brushed centre or do you have to repaint hte centre after stripping and rechroming.
Thanks

twin carbs and extractors on a EK auto
Is it possible to run twins and extractors on a grey with a hydramatic and to include the kick down linkage.
Has any one done this and do you get much out of it?
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers

Awesome build up story, Thanks Gaz for keeping us updated. Gotta ask where the hell do you find the time to do it all :D
Hope it all goes well to the finish.

Re: WTF ?
Thats the Nasco EX294485-1 Smokecreater, it filtered fumes from the exhaust and blew it back underneath.
A rare option fitted only to FJ and other early british cars up until now, never seen one on a later moder as they created a bit too much smoke :D\
