Re: The Project Goes Injected.

Not a happy household here, but please note, he CANNOT sell Faye FB as she is MY car.
We will persevere and somehow, someday, there will be a shiny Tinkerbell green FB Holden in my carport.

Hey Patrick,
I like your ideas.
Membership Secretary position will be up for grabs at the AGM, 15th July, if you want to take it on and find out if these great ideas can be made part of our club. :-)

Hi Les I've been publishing an "Expression of interest" thing in the back of our newsletter, "Twin Fin" (Vic FB EK Club). So far, I've received just shy of 50 units wanted. This is between Victoria and the NSW clubs. I Hope to shore up some more interest at the nationals, but any...

Hi Karen, Just noticed your predicament, I was involved with the mail-out of the hard copies. If you (or any one else, for that matter) have the same problem, you can PM me your address and I will pop one in the post for you the very next day, along with the information.

For those of you who were wondering about entry forms. Just Wednesday arvo I've posted about 200 forms to individual members as well as larger envelopes with 10-20 forms to clubs. Everyone in the Vic club should get one, along with and including all those who attended Tenterfield last year. Those of...

Pretty heavy I reckon
- Sorry, could'nt help myself.
My EK manual tells me an EK225 (special sedan) weighs 2490 lbs or 1129.44 kgs. I wold not like to guess if the FB is heavier or lighter, but the difference would have to be less than a tank of fuel.

I'm also grateful to whatever deity that the rain held off for the day. But I must share an amazing story. On the way home from the AHD, I had to drive through a HUGE thunderstorm. One of those downpours where you have to slow down to about 50 k's. Upon arrival home, my car was indeed very wet, but ...

Me Again. Regarding the colour of the fan, pulley, and breather pipe, both my engine and the spare one I got from another club member sports these colours on these parts. As far as I could tell they had always been that colour. Upon removal of the black paint only metal lay beneath. As for the balan...

Hey all After searching high and low for a grey engine paint in a pressure pack. I gave up and ended up buying a 1 litre can of premixed grey from a mob called "Eastern Auto Paints" in Bayswater (Vic) Their number is (03) 9761 2155. The only thing on the label which may be the paint number...

Finished the Motor and it's running like a dream. Just going through the running in period now. The paint I used came from a place called Eastern Auto Paints in Bayswater (Thanks Rosco). It looked a bit dark on application, but after a few days drying it looks pretty good. I took some photo's (well,...

Hi Jamie. Removing the distributor is nothing to be scared of. You have timing marks to follow on the flywheel. Just lift the flap covering the hole (behind the distributor) and line the pointer up with the ball embedded in the flywheel. This ball is located 2degrees before #1 TDC (6 deg if hydro), ...

Thanks SunnyTim
At least now I can be confident that as long as I do a decent prep job, I don't need to use primer and a decent engine enamel paint will do the job. I will probably go for the can option. If anyone is interested I'll post a pic here of the motor for all to see.

Thanks Fellas, The motor is still out and is yet to be re-assembled. Basically it will be a new grey. The entire motor is totally clean. All the sheetmetal has been cleaned bare and zinced. The can idea sounds great, I do have spraypainting gear, but seeing as the cans are engine enamel, then why mak...
