Thanks for the thoughts folks. Disconnected the speedo - gave it a squirt with WD40 , put it back together again and no luck. Thanks Fingers - your'e worth bottling. I have got another speedo on hand and will try this.Thanks very much for the offer.
Also Craig may have put me onto something with the 'miss alignment' of the cable also.

Thanks all for your varied & interesting replies. After many attempts to fix it, I'll give it one more go trying your various thoughts (except taking the auto out). Hi Guys,
Both boot springs are now stuffed. The boot wont stay up unless I use the old broomstick. I believe that 'RET' forum member has a kit for the replacement of these things. Has anyone got an email address or phone number for me to call?

After some standard style rims (4-widened) - 13X6 to make old girl look nearly original. Drum brakes all around. I live in VIC. northern subs.

Try sugar soap and leave for a minute, then wipe off with a damp sponge. really good if the cars has cigarette smoke browning. Other than that any good vynel cleaner.

Mine is approx. 1280mm for bottom width of seat & 1250mm for backrest width. Bottom width does not take into account the bottom metal surrounds at each end. PS mine is original not reupholstered if that helps.

Hello Folks, This is my first posting on this forum. Hope all goes well. My problem is that my speedo (orange line ) is sticking and staying stuck until I disconect the speedo cable. When this is done the speedo falls back to zero. Then I connect it up again take it for a spin , and yep it sticks ...
