hoping to get the block to a engine rebuiler to get cheak out and see how much we are looking at and also the head. so hopfully get some more progress done waiting for tax time to get new floor pans roof is fully sanded down to metal as well

I reckon will be hones, crank looks good. Cam not so good, the head looks allright the head gasket is in very good nik, I think dad wanted to get new pistons for it, but wanna get the crank out and cam and take the block to be looked at and see what the go is. So ...

Be bit hard here only got one builder. Other wise 4 hour trip to melbourne...

yeah thats problem here. in terms of car stuff either go to the local performance guy who anit cheap i got a price for a cam for my clubsport 8000 he wants for ported heads and cam of my choice and custom ...

only update iv got is the motor is all apart bar the crank and cam shaft...i should take some pics of the bores for you all tonight figuring out weather wroth taking it to get honed by a pro or get a mate to do it him self. how ever well get new pistons and cam.

be a tight fit for headers on that right hand side. not more room for play. got same motor as my vx clubby expect mine isnt carby. there quite motor with out a big cam in them unlike the 5l that has abit of engine note and great exhuast note

Number 2 piston doesnt look real flash mate

doesn't look to bad there all out now just need a puller to get hamoainc balancer off .was just dirt and carbon on it be getting new ones anyways, but the cylinders dont look to bad think number 3 had some slight marking but it will get honed once it ...

Easy as mate, there is bugger all inside.
I got a kit through Rare Spares and did mine without any trouble.

If you have synchro issues though you might have to chase spares. (they are not available new)

thanks mate, wasnt to sure if it worht taking it tranmission joint or not never done a ek one ...

just removed the tranmission form the ek few days ago is it easy to reco it your self or best to tranmission joint to do it

what can you do the old grey motor to give it a bit more go, dad wont go and swap to a v8 wants to keep the grey and hot it up abit buget doesnt realy matter

got the head off tonight and the cylinders dont look that bad just maybe need a hone and new pistons and rings turns over fine by hand not much effort needed.

gave the motor a wash before it went onto stands so throught post up some pics before i take it apart tonight, also it turns out it cranks over by hand fairly easy which dad was happy about. looked like some one painted the block red before as well.
