For a HR front end conversion (if you can do the work yourself) you could build the setup for about $400.

Re: Average price for a full head service off the car.
Sweet. Yeah, I was hoping for less than a $k.
The bottom end is going to cost me the most.

Average price for a full head service off the car.
Gday guys.
What would one expect to pay for a bottom to top head rebuild for a 138 grey motor for my EK?
I ask, because this is my first grey rebuild.
For memory my 202 was around $380. New valves, the lot.

Thanks very much guys.
That info is really handy. Shame she isn't the original colour scheme on the outside, but I love her none.the less.

I also think I was mistaken with its origin. Doesn't the 'A' mean adelaide?

Re: The old girl getting a freshen up.
Sure thing.
I checked it all when I bought her. For memory, I think it wad originally assembled in Vic?
Pretty sure it was also numbers matching.
I'll post some more pics of her as I go along. I've also got my EH Ute.

Alternator conversion.
Hey guys,
I found an alternator bracket on eBay that I'm thinking about using on the EK.
Question is, do I need to change out the starter motor as well?
Didn't know that there was a 12 volt option. I thought that if I wired it through the original regulator, the 6 volt starter.might still work ...

Electronic dizzy on grey motor.
Gday guys,
I'm going to do away with the points on the EK.
I've got a HEI coil, just have to buy the dizzy itself.
For memory, that's all I need yeah?
It's still running the standard generator.
That setup will work wont it?

EK Clutch upgrade kit - 220mm?
G'day guys,
Wondering if anyone has changed out their clutch kit for the 220mm upgrade kit from 'Clutch Industries' on eBay?
Any experience on it? Pro's/con's?

Re: 138 Alternator
Hey guys...
Just to clarify some point from the discussion...
An alternator from a late model red 202 will do the trick ? 35 amp onwards ? I'm looking to do the same conversion to the missus' EK Special.
Brackets will be the problem. And the wiring. Although I'm sure the explanations are simple ...
