Re: Purple people eater
Sitting for a while, then running them again sounds like a pitted slave/master cylinder passing fluid past the cups. Don't ask me how I know.
Sweep the garage floor, park it and pump the brakes up a few times. Pull the wheels and drums, and see of there is any leaks. Should find it. If its not ...

Re: Purple people eater
i suspect its just as it comes straight outta da box Harv... the mech that installed it with the motor rebuild years ago is a mech to avoid and steer well clear of. I had to have lots of work on it since the motor was rebuilt, oil leaks front and rear, the valve train was way out of adjustment ...

Re: Aftr Market Heater
so, after the advice on here about the hoses and grommet setup and trying to slip straight hoses onto it and checking the bends required to get to the firewall at a reasonable angle, I'm considering making use of the engine bay heater hoses in the cabin with the 90 deg bends at the heater. The edge ...

Re: Aftr Market Heater
That firewall grommet is the aftermarket Rares one. It is very, very thin compared to the original GMH ones. I found that the heater hoses had enough weight that they would pull the grommet out, repeatedly. Ended up running with a loose grommet for a while to let the hoses find their "settling ...

Re: Purple people eater
You must have plenty of clearance to the firewall at the back then, assuming you would have to be running short snout water pump. Nice engine bay dress up.

Re: Door Rust
Wander down the hill to Osborne Park - there's sure to be a sheet metal fabrication company there - and see whether you can persuade some small offcuts of 1.2 and 1.0 mm steel sheet out of them for welding practise. Then you can try in earnest on a panel
