yeah shes still my daily driver. still no heater installed so at 6-00 in the morning those vinyl seats wake you up real good. its actually very economical to run. the old 186 trimatic costs me about $20 a week to run. you would pay a hundred dollars just for the fun of driving the old girl.well that...

rear passenger door remote

i am looking for a good rear passenger handle remote. thats what they call it. i call it the bit that screws to the inside of the door that the inside door handle fits on to. it has to have good teeth on it.
i am not sure how much they are worth , i actually have 2 good ones but they are drivers side.

thanks for all your suggestions, i really didn't look inside the handles i was to busy picking out the best chrome. that might explain how some work and some dont. thanks i'll keep you posted.

got my upholstery redone and the upholsterer used a little to much foam on the door trims. combine that with the door cards i made ' we have a problem.but only on some of the handles. they dont seem to be going on to the spline enough to catch. you have to push it hard on , then turn. ive tried pull...

fuel gauge problem

keeping it simple,i ran out of petrol with my gauge showing just under half full. would this be the gauge or the fuel sender. is this a common problem? thanks

i use my car as a dayly driver and my newly reupholstered seats are coping a hammering from my grandkids. does any one know where you can get front seat covers. no where seems to sell them any more. someone suggested a back seat cover but it doesn't cover the back of the seat where the kids feet hit...

rattly gear lever

when im out on the open road doing about 55-65 miles an hour my gear lever rattles alot. if i slow to under 50 it stops. there is slop in the lever. is there any way to shim it up or tighten it :?: :?:
oh maybe i should mention its a colomn shift auto :esmile: :thumbsup:

no its not just the knob its the post as well .it pulls out from the chrome plate.

my passenger side flip window has a problem with the bit that the locking knob fits on. it comes out of the window. it seems pressed in or something. i tried super glue and silicone but as soon as you try and undo it , off it comes.any suggestions apart from a new window. this one has good chrome an...

yeah my health is now good and i'm enjoying using the old girl as my daily driver. everyone says i'm mad but whats the point in building a car like this and hiding it in the garage to pull out once a month and wash it. i drive it to work ,to the plaza, where ever i go and love driving it :thumbsup: ...

it was a very expensive fix , a $3.90 flasher unit. though the ghost blinkers are still there.its weird when i start the car the faint ghost blinkers flash for about 20 seconds then stay on constant until you turn on the blinker.spooky :esurprised: :esurprised: :esurprised:
