headers and manifold are in the shed somewhere, don't know if there original, wouldn't know if they have any identifiable markings

The way to tell the 186S headers from the X2 headers is the auto choke hole that goes through the 186S and not the X2, Trev 8) .

here's one I prepared earlier ...

thanks guys, great info there, I'm buying all the gear I need, mind you still looking for a car :roll: , but I tossed between orig centre lines or the dragways, I'm more leaning toward the dragays, the old purist hot sixer in me is a live and well. :D :D :D

Don't know why the rare spares outlet you spoke to yogie was being so pedantic about the HR crossmember being dented underneath :? :? :? most, if not all, HR front ends would be dented underneath from being jacked up under the crossmember over all the years, same as most FB/EK's.

Ah ha. Now we re talkin. Thanks yogie. I'll start looking for a HR front end then. Any tips on what to look for if I find a second handy eg quality, wear ect ect

if your buying to change over, years ago, for eg, rarespares wouldnt take one if it had a dented under section where everyone jacks up ...

Before cutting the rust out i would make new parts to be welded in so you can copy the shape, instead of cutting it up and then saying "I can't remember what it looked like" :? , Trev 8) .

make thm first out of cardboard, a lot easier to fold, but dont try ...
