Re: Engine Numbers

Hullo all. The post I got this from is very old, and would have closed many years ago, but I'm still hopeful that "FB MAD" might be able to see this: "FB MAD" QUOTE: ".............My FB had an EK engine in it when I bought it ( no wonder it never ran any good   :...

Re: Engine Bay Electric Wiring

Hullo Stephen
Thanks very much for your reply, and for the explanation of what the various numbers mean. Yes, I'll get some 10-amp cable.
Regards

Engine Bay Electric Wiring

G'day all Hoping at least someone can help me as electrics was never my best subject. I've discovered that after my car was rewired there was one original wire left and that runs from the negative (-) coil to the outside of the distributor body. On a wiring diagram I found it's shown as '16 GA Black...

Re: Rosco's EK 225 manual

No, Mr Apex didn't hijack anyone's post!! I attempted to set up my own post, and for some inexplicable reason it came up on this one. I tried again, same result. Twice more I attempted to change the "title", but was rejected each time. However, as I have come to the end of sorting out my e...

Re: Rosco's EK 225 manual

I actually did that too; the gears I replaced had minimal wear. The relief valve, whilst seeming a little "burnt" (dark in colour) still seemed OK, but was replaced anyway. The problem continues to worsen, so after a trial of a few months with 25W70, I'll probably have the engine rebuilt, ...

Re: Low Oil Pressure

G'day all, thought I'd let you know of developments with the low oil pressure when engine is hot - now happening at about 7 or 8 miles (was 10 miles) so getting worse. My mechanic pulled apart the oil pump, and though the relief valve and gear were not too bad, the relief valve spring was quite a bi...

Re: Rosco's EK 225 manual

Thanks FbSTDwagon (I'll try that) and Errol62 (no oil or smoke). Harv, that sounds very logical; thanks. Looks like I'd better drain it all and start again, next time sticking to the Penrite 60. That's what comes of being a bit mean and not wanting to "waste" a little good oil! Lesson lear...

Re: Oil Pressure light comes on at low speed

G'day Gents Thanks for the replies. I neglected to mention that the oil pressure light comes on ONLY when hot (after 10 miles), and it doesn't always flicker, mostly gives a steady glow, but goes out when revved or driven into 2nd gear. It seems to be getting slightly worse since I changed the oil l...

Oil Pressure light comes on at low speed

G'day Fellow Posters I've read with interest the various posts regarding low oil pressure. I've just installed an Autometer oil pressure gauge. The oil warning light comes on when the car has stopped, and almost stopped (in low gear), the gauge then showing from about 5 - 8 p.s.i. Is this something ...
