Re: Passenger Side Lower Front Guard Section
You'll be right Neil. Actually a relatively easy bit to play with. I don't know if it's Thompsons, but someone makes/made repair patches that cover that whole area. Unfortunately the one that is the right size that I have left over is a drivers side. Your side one went into the yute.

Re: Passenger Side Lower Front Guard Section
Unfortunately the full patch I have is for drivers side. I do have a passenger side as per photo but from the looks of your photo you would have to add a bit to it.

These?
Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately the Redline site, which is rather confusing and not too user friendly, shows them out of stock. In fact they show around half their air filter assemblies out of stock. I found them on eBay but marked up by 50%.

Maybe you do things differently in WA, but here we usually ask to visit, not tell.

I have a set of round paper element ones same height for my cd175s. They should fit your SUs.Errol62 wrote: Thu May 21, 2026 5:18 pm Great result. Three times everything gets dear. Been looking for filters for SUs with little joy.

Re: Project 2.
Well. Took it for a run. I always thought people were exagerating when it comes to the difference tripple Webers make on a red six. Was I wrong!!
Finally my little worked 186 is alive. Scary fast and responsive. What a joy.

I may have a patch panel for that Neil if you are interested. I had one for each guard, but used one on Wilma. Will have a look if you are keen.FireKraka wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 3:03 pm Have started work on the repairs on the guards, usual place

Re: Project 2.
First run tonight and the innevitable exhaust leak on the 7th port. These manifolds are hard work with fastener clearances, I hope it's worth the time and money that it has gobbled up. It actually ran pretty well straight out of the box, but a bit of time to spend coming up to get it at its best ...

Re: Project 2.
A bit more setting up. Waiting on a set of manifold washers to arrive in the post. Very difficult manifolds to bolt on because of the need to go from narrow port to wide carburetor shape. Hopefully alive later this week.
