Well the gizmo with the red bubble is an air balancer. So you loosen all the linkages and adjust each idle stop so all three carbs are drawing the same volume of air. Some folks use a hose in the intake area of each carb and listen to the hiss to try and get same sound from each carb.

Tank is looking good Dave! Is the filler slightly to the right of center, or is it the way they have done the ribs in the top of the tank?

I have the same issue with a rusted out upright but on the drivers side. Was thinking of cutting a section out of the back of the car for access to the ...

All tidied up now But now have this mess to deal with Had to cut a section out of the rear cross support where the upright brace attached. another day, another patch...

Yeah, lots of practice doing rust repair patches and good ol' copper backing is my friend. Looking better now still some tidying up to do.

Hey Dave - do you have the part number for that tank? 16 gallons? I started researching dimensions and I thought it was going to sit closer to the diff than yours. Might have been looking at the 69 tanks which are 22 I think. Inspired to start looking again!

Hi All, thanks for the comments and sharing thoughts and advice. Some minor progress after the whole family have been hit with whatever winter lurgy is going around here :sickk:

Patches done, mostly. Bit more finishing required before filler (definitely required...). Filled in trim holes. Next is to fix this bit of the gutter above RH rear door. Then onto fitting a Mustang fuel tank thanks to Brett027.

Let me slither out into the yard snd check my couch cut.

I’m guessing the hole is for retaining the end of the stainless trim, but I’ve never owned a special, couch cut included.
