Well ive finally gone to the dark side EK that is.Ive got 5 fe fc holdens and now one ek.pictures to follow

Ive started the bodywork

Just trying to make up my mind if i lace the roof and the dash or just metalflake the roof and dash.Im open to opinions on this as the ute will be for sale when finished.Hopefully should have it ready for Bright in November.Im painting the car in two weekends time so need to make up my mind on the roof??

Hi Tayz fc ute is close to mock up ive got a engineer coming down in 6 to 7 weeks time hes going to doboth my utes and a couple of mates hotrods and a fc sedan(BORN 58) that was just bought from Victoria

Painted engine bay last weekend white firewall and black side skirts come up really good hope to drop the motor and box into it on the weekend.Ive painted the engine just need to put the new rocker covers and side plates on it.

go the lace... i cant believe you even need to ask that question... especially after see devilrods roof & dash, its looks the coolest buy far...

i wish i could paint myself would have done it in a nano second...

nice ute buy the way... hey why are selling it straight away

The overall plan with both my utes Fc and ek is to get enough money to put a body on my 32 chassis . The fc ute has got injected 5 litre t700 and borg warner running gear.Will be painted same colour as ek ute.Im still tossing over lace on the ek though.Im trying to find a place that sells the 13" wide white walls???

How did you go about preparing the body did you sandblast it or just prime over the original paint.if sandblasted what was the cost as this is where i am up to.Had a quote of 1200 to do my sedan shell.

Apparently soda blasting is the way to go these days..
Doesn't warp panels, water soluble so any trapped particles just wash away...
My boss got quoted ~$1500 for an EK ute inside & out.

I blocked the body back with 180 then 2 pack primer for 3 coats and sanded with 180 then 400 then 800 to finish.Body was unbeleivably straight.Just about to etch the tailgate today and fit and finish spare wheel door.Also drop the motor and box in this afternoon.A mate got his ek ute blasted and etched for $550
