Cheers guys , so how do you get cool air ?? The air lever on the dash opens the flap that feeds the heater core so it would be heat all the time ?

You put a water tap/valve in one of the heater hoses feeding the heater core. Water on = hot air. Water off = warm air because the tap leaks 8)

The tap is often put under the engine bay, but can also live inside the car.

Get fancy with the tap, and you can run it off the dash control slider thing. You need a spare dash control slider thing to gut, then put the second arm on your one.

The left side arm is quite different from the right side arm - I have a pattern at work so you can make one out of 1.6mm sheet - if you can use a drill , grinder and file you can make one

I made left from right and ran a nasco grey head mounted tap pn my 186 head, to poor man heater, via bike cable. Worked well and not hot when tap turned off. Since went 1/2” copper to a ball valve under the dash, in easy reach.

Now that's a pretty neat little bit of kit most of the modern ones I've seen run on vacuum.

Thanks for posting Brett
