Finally got around to fitting the tramp rods borrowed from Clay (thanks Clay
) don’t know if they are going to solve the vibration issue I’ve been having but will know on Sunday when we have a club run.
Only issue I see is that the rod is actually already against where the chassis rail is fitted near the spring hanger, obviously the way they are mounted if the diff does now try to lift under acceleration it can’t go anywhere.
Feedback after the run on Sunday, they look tough let’s hope they work.

cut a shim and whack it under the front mount Hughesy or it will drive ya mad ; you want 10-20mm clearance from the snubber to the front of the spring

Hi Blacky it is quite long and the front wouldn’t touch the spring if you look at the photo it is sitting on the CRS chassis rail where it fits into the spring hanger.

Yeah I noticed that, maybe thats where the trouble is - the chassis kit site down further. I would try the shim under the front mount of the tramp rod to give it some clearance

I’ll see if I can get Frank out this afternoon and go around the block if it is shite I’ll take them out.
If I make some I’ll make them shorter I think.

From the photo it looks like they might be able to be mounted a bit further back, although not enough to contact the spring possibly. The guy I got them from said ha made them for his EH. I believe the springs are the same length, but maybe not.

Hi Clay I did try to move the back but the front bracket hits the shock lower mount.

I just went back and looked at Harv's thread on the tramp rods
I’ll go back and look at Clays on Frank maybe I have them on the wrong sides they didn’t look different but maybe they are there is clearance to move them back 20mm or so.

At least you didn’t tack weld them together 90-degrees out… not that I know anything about that
Cheers,
Harv

Cool - they do look the part and it seems like they are above the scrub line too so are legal ? I am running 15's so may need to do a bit of measuring - if you draw them up I will see if they are going to fit before committing , you are running an M78 Borgy diff aren't you ?
