Re: My new van
I love this thing! Followed its build on the oldholdens site for a long time. Was speaking to a member from this forum who told me that he had acquired the front sheet metal from this. Looks like he was telling porkies! From memory Andrew DID change the front sheetmetal on this car at one stage ???...

Re: My new van
Bugger me - my login still works here! Gday all. Yeah after more than ten years of owning this van - t'was time to release it back into the wild and let it be what it was meant to be. Its funny how life works out- moving to another country was not on the original agenda and life just got in the way ...

Re:
A Monaro is a Monaro, there is no difference that I know of between a 161 3 spd on the tree and a Bathurst model (in the body that is), unlike the GTHO's which had extra welds in the body that you can (if you know what your looking for) tell a GT/GS body from the 200 ci models. So as long as you ha...

Re: Holden doodlings
Man I like your thinking Alistair! Now that Vauxhall isnt really going to be a car available anywhere in Oz - however there is a very real chance one may be found in NZ - more specifically Horopito Wreckers- or Smash Palace as its widely known. It's the largest surviving wrecking yard in the souther...

Re: My CHOPPED FB wagon project
Gday ED Looking good! One quick tip - what are you using to knock the welds back? If you havent already got one - get a metal bodywork file. ( looks like a bog file but the teeth are closer together) These are terrific for knocking individual mig or oxy welds down quickly and without heating the pan...

Re: Rust repair panels
Yeah - I bought 4 of them from you , wish I had bought 10  hmm I wish I had not sold mine now and brought them with me. Technically I cannot sell anything for two years as I agreed with NZ customs. Problem is I sold or gave away everything pretty much before I came over. I try not to think abo...

Re: Rust repair panels
Andrew If they are the red oxide ones that Bruce has been selling for the last number of years then they aren't genuine Holden, they are made by the old panel beating shop at Ipswich (Taylors) but the shop burnt to the ground 5 years or so back). They were always an excellent fit and they have been...

Its chockas full of old cars- the biggest old car wrecking yard in the known southern hemisphere. Its actually my only real hope of scoring what I need. I thought I would try the foru...
